IntelBee — Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 1, 2025
This Policy describes how IntelBee collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, APIs, datasets, and browser extensions (the "Services"). Some jurisdictions grant additional rights (see "Your Rights"). If you use IntelBee on behalf of an organisation, you agree to provide any notices and obtain any consents required for your organisation's use of the Services.
1) Who We Are & Roles
IntelBee may act as a controller for data we collect to run our Services and as a processor when processing personal data on behalf of customers (see DPA). Contact us at [email protected].
2) Scope
This Policy covers: (a) our website and account portal; (b) browser extensions; (c) APIs and exports; (d) data products, including Public‑Source Contact Data derived from publicly available or licensed sources.
3) Information We Collect
A. Information you provide
- Account and profile details (name, business contact info, organisation, role).
- Billing information (handled by our payment processor).
- Queries, lists, uploads, and configurations you submit.
B. Automatic data (web/app)
- Device identifiers, IP address, system/browser type, settings, and crash logs.
- Usage telemetry (pages viewed, features used), cookies, and similar technologies (see Cookies).
C. Browser extension data
Active tab domain/URL and technical signals (headers, response metadata, resource references, DOM‑level indicators) necessary to detect technologies; extension version, performance metrics, and error diagnostics. We instruct the extension not to capture form fields, passwords, or content irrelevant to detection, and to minimise personal data. The extension may periodically transmit such data to IntelBee servers for analysis, model improvement, abuse prevention, and to enhance data freshness.
D. Public‑Source Contact Data
Business‑context personal data (e.g., name, job title, employer, work email, work phone, public social profile URL) obtained from public web pages, corporate websites, official filings, and licensed partners, and by inference/verification techniques. We do not intentionally collect sensitive categories like health, religion, or precise consumer geolocation.
E. Third‑party sources
Enrichment from data vendors, anti‑fraud providers, analytics, payment processors, and cloud security services.
4) How We Use Information (Purposes & Legal Bases)
- Provide and improve the Services, including detection accuracy, model/heuristic development, and customer support (contract / legitimate interests).
- Security and abuse prevention, fraud detection, rate‑limit enforcement, and debugging (legitimate interests / legal obligation).
- Business operations (billing, accounting, audits) (legal obligation/contract).
- Communications (service notices, product updates, where required, with consent).
- Research and analytics to understand usage and improve quality (legitimate interests).
- Compliance with laws, law‑enforcement requests, and regulatory obligations.
Where required (e.g., EEA/UK), we rely on consent for certain cookies/marketing and legitimate interests for B2B Public‑Source Contact Data, after balancing individual rights and expectations.
5) How We Share Information
We share information with:
- Service providers/processors (hosting, storage, analytics, email delivery, customer support, fraud prevention, payment processing).
- Customers (delivery of Output/IntelBee Data per their queries, which may include Public‑Source Contact Data where permitted).
- Partners and data providers under contract.
- Corporate transactions (merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets).
- Legal and safety (to comply with valid requests, protect rights, and investigate abuse).
We do not sell personal data where "sale" is defined by applicable law unless we provide required notices/opt‑outs. Some Public‑Source Contact Data may be licensed or made available to customers as part of paid services, subject to legal restrictions.
6) Regional Considerations & Restrictions
Australia: Anti‑spam rules can restrict the provision of contact details; we may withhold or obfuscate certain fields for Australian recipients and/or restrict use by Australian customers to comply with local law.
EEA/UK/Switzerland: We rely primarily on legitimate interests for B2B contact data. Individuals can object and opt out; we honour erasure requests where applicable. International transfers use appropriate safeguards (see "Transfers").
United States/Canada: Respect CAN‑SPAM/CASL and state privacy laws (e.g., CPRA). We honour Do Not Sell/Share and opt‑out signals where applicable.
7) Data Minimisation; Sensitive Data
We don't intentionally collect sensitive personal data and instruct our extension to avoid it. Please do not submit sensitive data to IntelBee.
8) Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary by data type (e.g., billing records vs. telemetry vs. suppression lists). We may retain Derived Data in de‑identified or aggregated form.
9) Security
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures (e.g., access controls, encryption in transit, vulnerability management). No system is 100% secure; please use strong passwords, enable MFA, and limit API key access.
10) Your Privacy Rights
Your rights depend on your location and role (individual vs. business contact). Subject to verification and legal limits, you may:
- Access, correct, and delete personal data we hold about you.
- Object to or restrict certain processing; opt out of marketing.
- Port your data (where applicable).
- Opt out of the sale/sharing of personal data and targeted advertising (where defined by law).
- Appeal a denial of your request (where required).
Submit requests at [email protected]. We may maintain suppression records to honour future opt‑outs.
11) Cookies & Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar tech for:
- Strictly necessary (auth, security, load balancing),
- Functional (preferences),
- Analytics (usage metrics),
- Advertising/retargeting (where permitted).
In the EEA/UK, we show a consent banner and honour choices. Manage preferences at intelbee.com/cookies. See our Cookie Notice for details.
12) Global Privacy Control & Do Not Track
Where required, IntelBee treats recognised Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as opt‑out/"do not sell/share" requests for the associated browser/session. Do Not Track (DNT) signals are not uniformly honoured by industry standards; we treat GPC as the applicable mechanism.
13) International Data Transfers
If you are outside the country where our servers are located, your data may be transferred internationally. For EEA/UK/Swiss data, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses, UK IDTA/Addendum) and implement transfer impact assessments with suppliers when required.
14) Children's Privacy
IntelBee is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under 16. If you believe a child provided personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
15) Automated Decision‑Making / Profiling
IntelBee does not make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects solely by automated means. We may use scoring/relevance ranking to prioritise data quality and matches.
16) Controller/Processor Determination
Controller: IntelBee acts as the controller for telemetry, account, product improvement, Public‑Source Contact Data we compile, and our marketing operations.
Processor: IntelBee acts as the processor for the Customer Data you provide for analysis or enrichment. The DPA governs such processing.
17) How to Contact Us: EU/UK Complaints
Contact Email: [email protected].
EU/UK: You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority; we encourage contacting us first so we can address your concerns.
18) Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you via the Services or email. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
